I wrote a perl script that I am using to display the ruleset from 4.1 through 6.x firewalls. It is as simple as I know how to make it, which probably isn’t that simple. So why I am here making such grandiose statements? Over a year ago I read an article on Lifehacker about Impostor Syndrome, after that I started to reflect on myself and compare myself to other’s in the networking world. I realized when I would compare myself to Greg, Ethan or Ivan from the blogsphere (who I gained a lot of information from) I would feel like an impostor and not expert, that they are the professionals and not me. Then after reading the Lifehacker article, I started to look at it from the other perspective, there are many other people that I read, learn from, and enjoy that presumably have more or less knowledge, experience, and intelligence… but they are contributing all the same.… Read more
